The Independent Living Council of Wisconsin

The Council is a body of Wisconsinites appointed by the Governor to plan Independent Living Services for people with disabilities in Wisconsin. Most Council members have disabilities themselves.

The work of the Council is supported by Independent Living Council of Wisconsin, Inc., a Wisconsin nonprofit corporation. The corporation is recognized as tax-exempt under Sec. 501( c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The ILCW promotes self determination and full inclusion of people with disabilities in Wisconsin.

Our Main Duties

ILCW supports the Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC). The Council’s functions include the following.
